PWA SUPPORT & ENDORSEMENT POLICES FOR SEMA ELECTION In an effort to disclose and outline the PWA support and endorsement policies, we are providing the following information. Each year, SEMA holds Director Elections which members of SEMA are allowed to participate. Inasmuch as the Election results will affect the direction of the automotive aftermarket industry, PWA believes the candidates who have a full understanding of the many channels of distribution will serve the automotive aftermarket industry the best. To this, the PWA Board of Directors has approved the following.
- PWA staff will NOT provide any letters or statements of support for any individual.
- PWA will however support the candidates who are currently a PWA member.
- PWA will send an endorsement letter to the appropriate members of PWA which will recommend the PWA members who are SEMA candidates.
Providing the following five (5) guidelines are met:
1. The category in question has a PWA member running for a specific category.
2. There are equal or fewer PWA member(s) equal to the available "seats" up for election.
3. Example: Four (4) seats up for election in the SEMA Distributor category and six (6) people are running. IF there are four (4) or fewer PWA member(s) on the ballot, PWA will recommend the four (4) PWA member(s). IF there are more than four (4) PWA members on the SEMA election ballot, PWA will not make any recommendations.
4. PWA will not recommend any PWA member over another PWA member.
5. The PWA Board of Directors may be contacted, as can any PWA member company and a request for an endorsement may be obtained from any individual. However, the person giving their endorsement must NOT identify themselves as a Director of PWA.
We hope these guidelines clarify the SEMA election support & endorsement policies of PWA. |
